A timekeeper was called in to offer his assessment of the building’s ill health.
‘The
sick building syndrome’ he said ‘comprises of various nonspecific
symptoms that occur in the occupants of a building that suffers from
an
acute
lack of time’. The timekeeper was a short man with a pallid skin,
a well maintained moustache and impeccable designer clothes, a doctor of temporal maladies and disjunctions. He explained to the chemists,‘

This
feeling of ill health increases sickness absenteeism and causes a
decrease in productivity.
The
sick building syndrome (SBS) is used to describe a situation in which
the
occupants of a building experience acute health- or comfort-related
effects that seem to be linked directly to the time spent in the
building.’
He
added ‘No specific illness or cause can be identified.
The
complainants may be localized in a particular room or zone or may be
widespread throughout the building.’
