CROMOFORO

Cromoforo is een cel die kleuren produceert variërend van geel, wit, zwart en blauw tot iriserend en reflecterend. Cromoforo-cellen worden aangetroffen in de huid van amfibieën, vissen, reptielen, schaaldieren en koppotigen. Het vermogen om van kleur te veranderen wordt vaak veroorzaakt door stress of verandering van stemming, temperatuur of omgeving. Pigmenten verplaatsen zich en reflecterende vlakken
heroriënteren zich als een vorm van camouflage.

In de tentoonstelling Cromoforo spelen vier kunstenaars met kleurgebruik, materiaaleigenschappen en de gelaagde huid van het beeldvlak.

Cromoforo is a cell that produces colour ranging from yellow, white, black and blue to iridescent and reflective. Cromoforo cells are found in the skin of amphibians, fish, reptiles, crustaceans, and cephalopods. The ability to change colour is often triggered by stress or change of mood, temperature or environment. Pigments translocate and reflective planes reorientate themselves as a form of camouflage.

In the exhibition Cromoforo four artists play with the use of colour, material characteristics and the layered skin of the picture plane.
